"I LOVE YOU"
"I Love You" is among the most commonly used expressions in any language, simple and succinct, yet one of great meaning and consequence. Ramses' I Love You (2011) is a waveform of that very sentiment, recorded from the artist's voice at 528 MHz, rendered in static then printed in silver metallic ink on paper. While some of the expression's inherent meaning may not translate into a visual medium, a new emphasis emerges when one is able to see " I Love You" at work. Ramses accomplishes a rare feat with " I Love You," revealing that a voice expression, can be experienced more than one way. "I Love You" is one part of a new series of waveforms rendered in silver metallic ink, each work in the series represented by a different two or three-word sentiment recorded in the artist's voice.
